When I was on my PA Peds rotation, I often consulted this great reference in the medical library. Now I have my own book, I know its value. There is no other Pediatrics book out there that are better than one. Do not waste your money on cheaper books Current Pediatrics which do not cover half as many topics as Nelson. Also, for a large paperback books, try Harriet Lane and current clinical strategies Pediatrics 5 Minute Review.

Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics covers just about very Subfields possible Childrens Medicine. Asa many authors have contributed tends style varies greatly between different parts andchapters. Some chapters, such as a description of the system theimmune is very technical and not aimed ÀL'ÉCHELLENATIONALE well versed in microbiology, while others likethe seriously ill children, is very descriptive and make convincing reading. Ntop is a reference book especially useful for those who want to read a good description of a particular disease or disorder. Writtenor It is not intended to diagnose, but ASA starter to make the reader keep Topic PARTICULAR after the diagnosis was made. It is not designed as a "last word" on anything. For example, although the proportion of Cardiology isextensive you need a bit more to discuss a complicatedcase with pediatric cardiologists at the local University Hospital. Unfortunately, there are some areas barely touched. Look for slidinghernia or esophagitis, for example, and you bedisappointed. This book is a good investment for both medicalpracticioners and parents love to isdedicated.
